About Us
We recognize that no one individual, organization or government agency can prevent substance misuse on its own. That’s why the McFarland RADAR Coalition and people from the surrounding area work together to raise awareness of the social, emotional and physical impact of alcohol and other drug misuse currently affecting our communities.
Our Coalition held its first meeting in January of 2017. Since then, members have engaged in many activities, forums, educational opportunities and open house events. It is our goal to inform, educate and bring awareness to the effect that alcohol, illegal drugs, vaping, fentanyl, prescription drugs and marijuana have on our youth.
We foresee a day when it will be easier for people in our community to make healthy choices in their day-to-day lives regarding the use of alcohol and other drugs.
FACT:
Two-thirds of teens who misused prescription pain medication, like opioids, say that they got them from family and friends, including their home medicine cabinets.
